TikTok Is Under The Danger Of Ban In India Again

Developing a useful app is easy. Developing a good and interesting mobile game is easy. Even developing software that makes our lives more interesting is easy. But it’s the most complicated thing to collect user data and to make the software match their requirements. This is the biggest problem all developers face. Even Google, Facebook, and other giants met this issue on their way. Since 2017, when TikTok was developed and introduced publicly, it’s become one of the world’s most popular mobile apps. As of the first quarter of 2019, Vietnam’s overseas version of TikTok has ranked first in the Apple App Store for five consecutive quarters. It’s very popular, and there is every reason to think the developers of this app should face the aforementioned problems as well.

Recently, Times of India reported that the overseas version of TikTok has once again been regulated by the Indian government. The government asked TikTok a list of 24 questions, including how the platform collects user data and raises awareness of safe use. Moreover, the Indian government wants to know whether the company stores its data locally and whether it has taken enough steps to keep children away from the addictiveness of the application.

Is This For The First Time For TikTok?

In fact, this is the second time when the company faces regulatory heat. In February 2019, TikTok got another ban in India. However, it referred to a regional social media app called Helo. Many believe that it caused many adverse effects on minors in the country and expressed concern that children spend a lot of time using short videos. In April, the Indian court lifted the ban on TikTok and approved the re-stock of the application.

In this month, we heard that the overseas version of the TikTok, the British regulatory authorities are investigating Vibrato. The survey involved how TikTok handles personal data for young users and whether child safety issues are prioritized.
